Fraud Awareness for Creators

Most fans on Passes are exactly who they seem: people who love what you make and want to support you. This guide is for the rare moments when something feels off, so you know what to look for and how to reach us fast. ## First, what we’re already doing No platform can promise to stop 100% of fraud. Anyone who says otherwise isn’t being straight with you. What we can tell you is that we have a lot happening behind the scenes to catch and prevent it, and we are always adding to it. You don’t have to be your own security team. Think of this guide as one extra layer on top of what we already do for you. ## Things worth a second look Seeing one of these doesn’t mean something is wrong. Plenty of generous fans do things that look unusual. But if a few show up together, or something just doesn’t sit right with you, it’s worth flagging. ### Spending patterns - A brand new account making a very large purchase right away - A sudden jump in spending that does not match how that fan usually shows up - Lots of purchases in a short window, especially large ones - A fan who spends heavily and then asks about refunds or reversals ### Conversation patterns - Pressure to move the conversation or payment off Passes - Requests for your personal info, like your address, phone number, or login details - Links or files you were not expecting - Stories that change or do not add up - Urgency, like “do this right now” or “I need an answer today” ### Fans who may be overspending - Someone who mentions money stress, but keeps spending big - A fan who seems to be spending more than they can comfortably afford That last category is not necessarily about fraud. It is about caring for your community. If something feels concerning, it is worth reporting. ## What to do if something feels off 1. **Use the Report button.** This is the fastest way to reach Passes. You will find it in the app and on the site. 2. **Add as much detail as you can.** Include the fan’s username, what happened, and when. Screenshots help too. If you do not have everything, a short note is enough to get things started. 3. **Keep the conversation on Passes.** This keeps a clear record for review. 4. **Hold off on refunds, gifts, or side arrangements.** If you are unsure about a fan, report it first instead of trying to decide everything on your own. ## What happens after you report Your report goes to our support team, and reports involving large amounts of spending get extra attention. We may reach out if we need more details. You don’t need to confront the fan or investigate on your own. That’s our job. ## Important reminders - Trust your gut. If something feels off, reporting it is always okay, even if you are not sure. - You will not get in trouble for reporting something that turns out to be fine. - Never share your password or login codes. Passes will never ask you for them. ## Still have questions? You can get started with the AI support assistant, Sophie, by going to https://help.passes.com/ and clicking the chat bubble icon.
